    the royal navy has …
    the royal navy has numerous ships that gave outstanding service and had proud war records.
    the illustrious for example took out three battleships and two cruisers just in the taranto raid and suffered very severe damage on more than one occasion.
    unfortunately like most WW2 ships she was scrapped and mostly forgotten.

    60 odd cruisers …
    60 odd cruisers with another 30 plus added.
    6 years of war often close to land based airpower or without air cover.
    the ships could take heavy damage and dish it out too.
    the one really good thing with british cruisers was keeping torpedoes,( american cruisers did away with torpedoes which was a disastrous decision during the solomons campaign.)

    So you have a ship …
    So you have a ship worthy of reccord for outstanding service? Oh good, every one of ships are known for outstanding service of some sort.

    And dont forget, we have the world’s most decorated, renown and praised ship, by all people of all time by most of the world’s modern navies as of now.
    The aircraft carrier… Enterprise i think lol.

    And, many of our ships are capable of withstanding what would otherwise cripple any english ship. Saving and fighting till the fight is done >:D

    @peepeevagi the hms …
    @peepeevagi the hms penelope was sunk saving americans at anzio was also the last warship to leave malta during the siege where she was at one point there was over 80000 shrapnel holes in her the crew thought she was the best ship in the navy battle honors are up there with any american ship by the time usa got to the med force k and others wrecked axis shipping least time in war least losses

  7. peepeevagi Says:

    I thought the …
    I thought the english were supposed the be the masters of the naval arts. As they have been world renown for. Ever since the 100-gun ships of the day to now apparently.

    And, time and money dont mean anything. The japanese built ships of outrageous proportions, and they were pretty smart at naval warfare. And we still sunk their entire navy with inferior treaty ships.

    I honestly wish i could have seen the N3 class of battleships come to be though.

    @peepeevagi I …
    @peepeevagi I think you will find that uSA had MONEY and more importantly TIME to build upt o date warships, as USA entered the war later than Britain

  9. peepeevagi Says:

    Fifty built, Fifty …
    Fifty built, Fifty sunk? Lol.

    English cruisers were cool, but were horribly outdated. And the new ones were poor.
    Comfortable though.

    Only the US built a good treaty ship.
    We had the least naval losses of all the allies who came under attack, and we decimated the forces we came across. I wouldn’t chalk it up to skill though.

    A frightful number …
    A frightful number of these cruisers were lost. The lost battleships (RO, Repulse, POW, Hood, Barham) are well known but remember these valiant ships whose crew gave their lives as well.

    only the Belfast is left of all these fine ships, she is an amazing ship and well worth a visit..
