how do u check how much petrol is in a cruiser motorcycle?
Normally you would have a gauge on the bike like any other car or bike, but for some silly reason, there isn’t one on many cruisers….So how do you check the petrol level on a cruiser motorcycle?
Most of us reset out trip meter when we fill up and turn the petcock to ON, we start looking for fuel when it sputters and we go to RES.
Worked great until a friend reset the trip meter so he could find out how far he rode, only a minor matter.

remove fuel cap peek inside tank
before you leave out
know how many miles you can get by setting mileage a few times you get used to looking inside tank

unfortuanately, its down to guess work, however when the bike starts to cough and stutter, turn on the fuel reserve tap and head for the fuel station, usually within 10-15 miles. hope this helps.

Some bikes have fuel gages. Others have a reserve tank, so when you run out you still have 20-30 miles to fill up. Sometimes you can open the tank and look in, or even rock the bike from side to side to hear the fuel splashing in the tank.
Most bikers I know who don’t have fuel gages use their odometer. You set it to zero when you fill up, and you know about how many miles you can go on a full tank.

Here’s the best way to handle that situation;
Fill your bike to maximum capacity. Reset your trip meter to zero. Buy the smallest jerry can you can find (5L…whatever) and strap it to your bike. Ride it until it runs out of fuel. It is best to do this a couple of times, doing both city & highway riding, so you get an average of your mileage in both situations. 5L is enough to get you to the nearest gas station, and you’ll know how far you can ride on a tank of gas in either situation, city or highway.
I do this even with my bikes that have a fuel gauge. They are notoriously inaccurate on bikes, due to the shape of the fuel tanks. I had an electronic fuel gauge on the Gold Wing I used to have, and if the gauge had been accurate, I’d have gotten 600 kms on a tank. It would take forever to show I was at half a tank, and then it seemed in no time it was flashing ‘low fuel’.

Hmmm – mustn`t be a Harley as my FLSTC has one.Use a flashlight or a clean long stick being care full not to drop it into the tank.
